Privacy Policy
How RxNotebook collects, uses, and protects information.
1. Who We Are
RxNotebook ("we," "us," "our") operates rxnotebook.com. We provide independent editorial reviews of telehealth providers. We are not a healthcare provider and do not provide medical care, diagnosis, or treatment.
2. Information We Collect
We collect three categories of information:
- Information You Provide: Email address if you subscribe to our newsletter or contact us.
- Automatically Collected: IP address (anonymized), browser type, device type, pages visited, referring URL, and time stamps. Collected via standard server logs and our analytics providers.
- Analytics Providers: We use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google LLC) to measure aggregate traffic patterns, popular pages, and approximate geographic regions of our readers. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers; IP addresses are anonymized before storage, and we do not enable Google Signals or advertising features. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy. We additionally use Fathom Analytics and Ahrefs Analytics, both privacy-first measurement tools that are GDPR, CCPA, and PECR compliant. Fathom and Ahrefs do not set tracking cookies, do not collect personal information, and do not cross-site track. Fathom's privacy policy is available at usefathom.com/privacy.
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: See our Cookie Policy for details.
3. How We Use Information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the website.
- To measure aggregate site usage and content performance.
- To communicate with you when you reach out or subscribe.
- To attribute affiliate referrals when readers click out to provider websites.
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Affiliate Tracking
When you click a link to a provider, the destination provider may set its own cookies and pass a referral identifier back to our affiliate network so commissions can be attributed correctly. We do not receive your personal medical or order information from providers; we receive only aggregated commission reporting.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal information. We share data only with: (a) service providers acting on our behalf (Google Analytics, Fathom Analytics, Ahrefs Analytics, email service providers, and hosting infrastructure); (b) affiliate networks for commission attribution as described above; and (c) authorities when legally required. Google may transfer aggregated, anonymized analytics data outside the European Economic Area; transfers are governed by Google's Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the processing of your personal information. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA. EU and UK residents have rights under GDPR. To exercise any right, email privacyrxnotebook.com.
7. Children's Privacy
RxNotebook is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. Server logs are retained for up to 12 months. Newsletter data is retained until you unsubscribe.
9. International Transfers
Our infrastructure operates in the United States. If you access the site from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
10. Security
We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the updated version with a new effective date. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
